I think it this way

My favourite footballer - Samir Nasri

No longer a Gunner - Arsenal, now, he has joined Manchester City.

No longer number 8, but now number 19.

Now this is it. Manchester City have signed this France midfielder Samir Nasri from Arsenal on a four-year contract. An estimated $25 million transfer, following club captain Cesc Fabregas' switch to Barcelona. Now, officially he is one of the Manchester City's. In this four-year, $173,000-a-week contract does mean he has all but doubled what he was earning at the Emirates Stadium.

Here comes the issue, Harry Redknapp, the Spurs manager, i prefer to call him 'dua-de-ham' manager, comment something about Nasri. "He (Nasri) could have gone to Manchester United, they wanted him and he wanted to go there, but then Man City came in and offered him more money so he went to Man City. That's how it goes, we have to be realistic. When people get offered the chance to treble their wages, they're going to think about it, anybody would." Well, everybody thinks it this way, Nasri looks only for the money. But i guess there is still something more than that.

Nasri mentioned something. He admitted he had become frustrated at Arsenal and said he is looking forward to playing at a stadium with a better atmosphere than the Emirates. The City supporters are really passionate and it reminds him of playing for Marseille. Arsenal have good fans but they are not that passionate since they moved from Highbury to the Emirates. The crowd at City are amazing and that's what he wants as a player - a good atmosphere. Plus, the Arsenal legend - Patrick Vieira convinced Nasri to move to the Eithad Stadium.

I guess he is just searching for a sense of belonging. Nasri admitted he felt he is needed in the City. He added :" I remember when we played against City, when we lost 3-0, the crowd was amazing. That is what i want. When you play football it is for a good atmosphere." I guess everybody loves to feel glory and the same goes to Samir Nasri too. For me, he maybe chosen to 'betray' his 'second dad', Arsenal Wenger and it looks so damn ethically wrong. Like my Bay said, if he celebrates his goal during the play against Arsenal , it make things worst. People will hate him more.

For me, what is so important on the real motive that makes him wanted to go over Man City? The money? The potential of the club? For trophy? For the crowd? The sense of belonging? All doesnt matter to me. What does matter is he, himself. His contribute to the club. Still remember this? Samir Nasri has been nominated as the player of the year and also the young player of the year. Nasri has been the outstanding entertainer that season, producing a devastating combination of assists and goals to keep Arsenal in the hunt for their first trophy in the six years. And look at how he's playing in Man City now. His assists his debut for City, a 5-1 victory over Tottenham on Sunday. Surprisingly was in stark contrast to Arsenal's 8-2 defeated to Manchester United.

Well, people, for me, his performance is way more important than the main motive he transferred. So stop being disrespectful to this young player and give him a chance. Stop woo-ing him for his decision of leaving Arsenal. He has his own rights to choose. For me, watching football is watching how someone can assists or make a goals. Not someone who willing to stay or go.

So, as long as he still in good shape, he will still be my favourite player.
Cheers =)
